There has been growing concern on the calls by some Nigerians via Twitter to mobilize against Independent Electoral Commission INEC over allegation of fake PVC registration.
ODUDUWA NEWS in its investigation today discovered that the hashtag #OccupyINEC is now trending on Twitter as many tweeps have been calling for mass action against INEC on the 27th of this month.
ODUDUWA NEWS gathered that the trending #OccupyINEC is in connection to fake date of births, names allegedly detected in the voters registration list.
In the voters registration list obtained by ODUDUWA NEWS, there were some mismatches identified in the said list. It was found out that some names had non-existing date of birrths like 1900, 1901 and some identities found out to be old than the ages recorded for them.
Below are some of the tweeps condemning such act and calling for a nationwide protest against INEC.
A popular Tweep- NeferTiti said, #OccupyINEC is a Peaceful Protest by the Citizens of Nigeria against the APC appointed/dominated INEC. 2023 is now in serious jeopardy. My People, are we going to allow the compromised INEC deprive us of a bright future? Are we going to allow the APC point guns to our faces?
@Tomisin said, “there should be nationwide protest against @inecnigeria if not all our efforts will be in vain. You can’t imagine the fraud in North central and Other APC controlled state. @inecnigeria is the real enemy”
Another tweep @Ejimba said, only in Nigeria, people born in 1900 are still alive. An old woman is born in 1983. A woman now looks like a man
APC is a scam.
@Omotayo Williams said, “On the day of the election we need to take out beds and sit down at our polling units, @inecnigeria needs to tell us how they intend to accredit fake voters with BVAS. They can’t say they don’t know. INEC is a scam #OccupyINEC”.
Though, INEC is yet to make official statement on the said allegation as efforts are currently ongoing to ensure that the officials of INEC address the matter as soon as possible.
