Residents of Lagos state, are calling for the urgent intervention of the government to revamp the water system in Lagos.
According to the information residents lament poor water supply as houses have result to buying water from commercial boreholes who sell at N100 per 25liters, while others build their boreholes in other to survive in lagos.
Moreso, a resident of Mushin Mr Rasak said it he has to fetch water from like 100meter away from his house in Idioro area of Mushin, Lagos.
A resident of Ojuelegba Ebuka lament bitter “I wonder why Lagos state that is sorrounded by water is having crisis”
A resident of Iyana ipaja (Aboru) Mrs Olabisi said “We have been neglected here, I wonder if we are still on the map of Lagos, No water, even our boreholes are not drinkable due to the nature of the soil here”
A resident of Okokomaiko who is also a student of LASU, Miss Debora said “I go through hell before getting water here, no direct water supply and the boreholes is only good for bathing and washing, can’t be use to cook.
A nursing mother in Lagos Island Mummy Abike, said I just relocate to Lagos last year when my husband was transferred to Lagos, and the water issue is one of the reason I don’t enjoy my stay in this area. The government should please do something about the water crisis.”
