The major reason for the fuel scarcity hitting various cities in Nigeria has been given by marketers in the upstream and downstream sector in the statement released to newsmen.
In the statement, it was gathered that certain volume of contaminated Petroleum Motor Spirit PMP has been in supply chain. It has been identified and quarantined but it has caused some supply hiccups that will get worse before it gets better.
According to the press release, the marketers were quoted as saying, “to ensure safety of vehicular and equipment safety, the limited product of the impacted product has been isolated and withdrawn from the market including loaded trucks in transit.
Our technical team in conjunction with NNPC Ltd and other industry stakeholders, will continue to monitor and ensure quality petroleum products are adequately supplied and distributed nationwide.
