The Learnaholics Academy, Africa at the recently concluded outreach organized by Voices Against Rape and Sexual Harassment (VARSH) trained Volunteers on the NGO’s effective delivery of the task before them.
This year’s edition of VARSH outreach lasted over a week with TLA Africa taking the grand opening with HR training at the Oke-Ila Orangun community of Iredayo Local Government Area of Osun State.
Speaking shortly after the training, the Executive Director of VARSH, Ms. Aworanti Salvation commended TLA Africa for the wonderful presentation for deeming it fit to train their members for them to understand the task at hand better before the commencement of the real work.
“The instructors from The Learnaholics Academy did a great job with the volunteers’ training. I received many positive comments from the volunteers about the sessions. I enjoyed the instructor’s method of teaching; the way he provides background knowledge before delving into the topics” she said.
In his response, the Executive Director of TLA Africa, Mr. Olatunbosun Olalekan also recognized the developmental work VARSH is doing at the grassroots level and reiterated the support of his Organization to VARSH whenever it’s needed.
” VARSH is doing great with grassroots advocacy. And we deemed it fit to support her by training her volunteers in volunteerism, project management, and grant writing. It’s important to improve the skills of human resources, especially for organizations like VARSH. We will do it over and over again” he said.
Some of the Volunteers who spoke with our correspondence appreciated TLA Africa for the Insightful presentation. Adebowale Hassanat, a participant said “One thing that stood out was their work ethic. There was nothing like African time; they arrived on time and delivered valuable lessons within the allotted time. Also, the sessions were very engaging. The instructor had a way of relating the topics to real-world issues to aid our assimilation”
Adesewa, another participant expressed her excitement. “The training with The Learnaholics Academy was an educational and interactive one.
The instructor did justice to all the topics, with his innovative style of teaching. I’ve taken quite a several project management courses and this is one of the few that were interesting. He brought it down to our level and explained using diagrams and charts. I also gained an in-depth understanding of what the concept of volunteerism is, and the opportunities in volunteering”, she said.
Vivian, another participant didn’t withhold her feelings. “I’d like to describe the session as powerful. I had high expectations for the training, and honestly, it surpassed my expectations. The delivery was perfect. I loved the analogies he used during the Grant Writing session. I believe that he taught us concepts that would have ordinarily taken us weeks to learn in a few days, and ensured we understood”, she said.
While also making an official statement, the Academy’s Community Engagement and Campus Director, Ms. Ayomide Olutola also reiterated TLA Academy to support organizations that promote any of the SDGs in any way they can.
