“We also want to implore his Excellency to put the Local Government Chairmen on their toes, as they are lagging behind in the rehabilitation and construction of local roads within their authority. We have members across the eleven Local Government Areas in Ibadan, and we can say authoritatively, that local roads are all in deplorable State” e.g Apete/Ayegun Road, Sanyo Agbamu/ Ajofeebo/Ago/Farai/Olunde Road, Olusoji Road Oluyole Estate, Mobile/7UP Road to waterworks, Soka/Ire Akari/Idi mango/Faruku Road, Apete/Yidi Arola Road, Ayegun/Oleyo road, Tipper garage/Alaaka Road, Wire and Cable/Orisumbare/Aba Ege/Oloho, Orita faaji Road, Ojoo/Igbo Oloyin Road, Elewuro to Olorunda aba Road, Omi to Ido, Orita Merin Gangansin/Paara Road, just to mention a few of these roads across the eleven local Government areas in Ibadan.
“Furthermore, it’s important we made it clear that our call for rehabilitation of local roads throughout the Eleven Local Government Areas in Ibadan is not political motivated as it’s in good fate for the betterment of our people.
The Forum implore the government to always give strict conditions to contractors in what they will be giving to the people. “We want sustainable roads, not the ones that won’t last for one year after commissioning.” the forum President emphasized.
Finally, the Forum commend His Excellency, Engineer ‘Seyi Makinde on the operation fill potholes and the recently released #750 million to Oyo State Road Maintaince Agency.
