As part of the preparation for 2023 General Election, all political parties are set for their primaries which will kick off in few days.

Though, all bonafide and qualified citizen of our dear country have the right to indicate their interest to contest for one public office or the other, it’s important for us as a people to take a great consideration for the female folks who have shown interest in any of the offices especially that of House of Representatives for Ibadan North Federal Constituency.
It might interest my readers to know that since the return of democracy in 1999, Ibadan North Federal Constituency has never had any Female Federal Honorable. The question that comes to mind is that, is it that no competent and intelligent female has shown interest in the past and present? Of course, the answer will be Capital No.
Unfortunately, our females has been reduced to good planner and kingmaker who does not become a king.
It is an obvious fact that female constitute over 50% of the population of any society starting from the ward level up to the National level and the global village at large.

One will agree that females (women) have the required numercal strength when it comes to support political aspirants, then, why not give them the chance too?

Did Ibadan North Federal Constituency deserve a female representation? Yes they deserve it, why?

1. There are vibrant and energetic females who has shown interest.

  1. Those that have indicated interest have a great landmark commendation records of their various contribution to the development of the constituency – Ibadan North.
  2. There has been no female representative at that level for once, most especially since the return for democracy in 1999.
  3. They have what it takes to run for the office and be a good ambassador as their male folk, et cetera.
Indeed, it will be a political bias and unbalance representation for not giving the female chance to be the flag bearer of any of the political parties.
Our females are being equal with us (male folks) in all ramifications and there should be gender equality for all. It is painful that the female inclusion in governance is low. How can we discover the great potentials in our female folks in governance if they are not being tested and given space to lead.

Finally, I’m urging all parties as they set for their primaries to consider our females aspirants and be fair to them and allow them to test their popularity in the forthcoming election.

It is time for Ibadan North female representative at the Abuja Green Chamber come 2023.

Our female folks can do it better; congratulations to the female flag bearer in advance. I wish and pray for a peaceful, free and fair Electoral in 2023.
