As the world celebrates the Easter Festival, Executive Chairman of Oorelope Local Government, Hon. Akeem Adepoju Raheem, has called on Christians in the Council to reflect on the season by following the examples of love, faith and submission to the will of God, which remain the major themes of Easter.
Raheem, who stated this in a statement at the weekend, equally enjoined Christians to use the opportunity provided by the solemn season to make supplications for Oorelope Local Government, Oyo State.

He specifically charged them to pray for the leadership of the state, personified by His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, under whose watch the state has moved from poverty to prosperity.
“Today, I celebrate with my brothers and sisters in Christ as they observe the Easter Festival, a solemn festival marking the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
“The themes of Easter are hinged on God’s love for humanity, Christ’s faith, his absolute submission to the will of God, which also portray his love for mankind to the point of laying down his life and the awesome power of God, which was demonstrated through Christ’s resurrection.
“My charge to Christians is that they should use this occasion to reflect again on these lessons and imbibe them in order to become better.
“I also encourage them to use this sober moment to pray for the continued progress of our Local Government and for our leader, His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, a man who means for Oyo State and has been doing everything possible to reposition the state and uplift its people.
“I wish everyone a happy Easter filled with God’s love and blessings.”
