Veteran journalist and multiple-time Press Secretary to former Governors of Oyo State, Chief Lekan Alabi, has passed away at the age of 76.
Alabi, who was the Abese Olubadan of Ibadanland, reportedly died on Saturday morning in Lagos.
According to a press statement from the Olubadan Palace, family sources disclosed that the deceased would be buried on Sunday in accordance with Islamic rites.
Lekan Alabi was a respected journalist and public affairs commentator who served as Press Secretary to former Oyo State Governors, contributing significantly to the state’s media and public communication landscape.
His death is expected to be mourned by the journalism community, traditional institution, political class, and the people of Oyo State.
